Mexico Missions Exposure 2006

Our trip began with 30 people and 60 pieces of luggage and supplies leaving Akron Canton Airport at 6:30 am on Saturday, July 8th.  We arrived in San Diego, picked up our caravan of vans and checked into the Best Western for the night.

We had dinner that night at Marie Callenders.

Sunday morning began with services at Horizon Christian Fellowship.

Then it was on to Mexico.  The border crossing went smoothly thanks to the interpreting skills of Greg Stanley.

We stopped for lunch at El Nidos for our first of MANY Mexican meals.

We arrived at Agua Viva to find that our plans were changed and we would be going to a new location for ministry in Ensenada.

Brandon Harris taught each day at VBS.

The face painting team showed off their art work.

Jennifer Branch and Greg Stanley entertained the crowd with a skit each day.

The musical talents of Danny Thomas, Elizabeth Alessandro, Danae Stanley, and Reanna Eckroad, led us in worship with the children each day.

Ryan Wojton led the games each day.

Craft time was always fun for the kids.

Snack time was even more fun!

VBS was amazing!

Tracy Eckroad was an awesome VBS Coordinator and Allyson did a great job as our translator.

Each afternoon we worked on completing a building for Pastor Franceso that would be used for a church on the upper level and a meeting place for the children in the lower level.  The children will be able to come to this building before school each day to receive breakfast and a packed lunch for the day.

Also in the afternoons, Mike Brown took a group to another local church in Ensenada where he taught the “Redbook” Study on “How to Know God.”  The congregation was excited to receive this great evangelistic tool that they can use to reach others in their community for Christ.

Each day 6 or 7 members of our team went to a different location to work with a missionary doctor to provide medical care for the people of Mexico.  They distributed medications and gave toys, bibles, and tracts to the patients.

Ron Regas taught a group of Mexican Pastors a series called the “First Principals.”  He worked with over 20 pastors in this study that was held all day Monday through Wednesday at Agua Viva.

After our last VBS, master chef, Ron Regas, cooked up hot dogs for everyone!

Each night we ended our day with a time of sharing and worship together.

We attended a church service in Ensenanda with Pastor Ramone on Thursday night.

Friday we headed back to the states after a stop at LaBufadora for sight-seeing and shopping.

We arrived back in San Diego on Friday afternoon and we able to spend the day on Saturday relaxing at the beach before our trip home early Sunday morning.
