What is AWANA?
2 Timothy 2:15 – “Be diligent to
present yourself approved to God a worker who does not need to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth."
AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) is
a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children with
the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to service Him. The
heartbeat of AWANA is reaching children around the world with the good news
that Jesus Christ loves them and can save them from sin. Each week,
more than one million boys and girls in over 110 countries attend AWANA
clubs where they memorize Bible verses, sing and listen to biblical lessons
and play games. From 2 years to 5th grade, children have fun while being taught
the Word of God.
The weekly AWANA clubs all function basically the same way. A
90-minute to two-hour club session features three segments: Game Time,
Handbook Time and Council Time. During Game Time, boys and girls play games
on the unique AWANA Game Square. In Handbook Time, children work through
age-appropriate handbooks memorizing Bible verses and doing activities
ranging from patriotism to community service. They earn awards based on
their work. The final segment, Council Time, consists of singing and
biblical lessons based on the truths from the Word of God.

What is AWANA
at Faith Bible Church?
AWANA @ Faith Bible Church is a time for
children to learn God’s Word through memorization and being taught the
foundational truths of the scripture. It is also a time to play games and
have fun. Our AWANA ministry is held on Wednesday’s during the school year
beginning at 6:45 pm and ending at 8:30 pm. Our AWANA ministry is for
children from age 2 to grade 5.
Our AWANA ministry is comprised of the following Clubs:
Puggles:
Age 2
Cubbies: Ages 3-4
Sparks: Grades K-2
T&T: Grades 3-6
This is a ministry that also depends on the
involvement of the parents. There are weekly sections that include memory
verses that need to be worked on throughout the week. Parents must be
continually working with their children to not only memorize these
scriptures, but also apply them in their children’s life.
Annual Events
Besides weekly meetings, other AWANA activities occur throughout the
year. These include:
Hayride

Open House

Grand Prix
